Stepping back in time.

The title of this post is probably quite apt because not only are we crossing the international date line but we are also stepping back in time. The time zone in this part of the world is unique and is known to the locals and travellers alike as "Raro time."

We leave tomorrow for a trip to Rarotonga in the Cook Islands. In order to get to Raro you have to cross the international date line, so although we are leaving Welly on Friday we arrive in Raro on Thursday! We have been tantalising close to the international date line here in NZ for the last year and now we finally get to cross it!

We will be back in a week with news of our travels and I will try and do the post on screw caps v corks.
